Midlands Hospice receives funding from TIAS ARMS for a Child Care Worker, who visits children with HIV/AIDS to monitor their health status and insure that they are complying with treatment.
TIAS ARMS provides a high-calorie food parcel every two weeks to these children, because HIV/AIDS is a wasting illness that depletes the body and causes severe weight loss. TIAS ARMS gave money to buy a scale so that the children are weighed each month as part of the monitoring of their health status. This three-pronged approach of care, food, and monitoring is vital for the children’s long-term survival.
