Khazimula Children’s Home began when our founder Joanne encountered a group of homeless children in Howick South Africa who were in desperate need of shelter and care. What started as a modest effort to provide safety and meals — with support from a local tearoom owner— has become a robust children's home in the countryside.
Today, Khazimula serves as a loving home for 30 children ages 6–18 who are orphaned or come from unstable and at-risk environments. Supported by a dedicated staff and compassionate volunteers, Khazimula provides not only shelter and nourishment, but also stability, guidance, and hope for a brighter future.
TIAS ARMS proudly helps fund Khazimula.

HOKISA (Homes for Kids in South Africa) is a childrens home based in the township of Masiphumulele in Cape Town. It is dedicated to providing loving, full-time care for children living with or affected by HIV/AIDS. The children are placed in HOKISA through the Magistrate’s Court following a careful assessment of their social circumstances and individual needs. Whenever possible, families are encouraged to remain involved in the child’s life.
The home provides care for up to twenty children. Through the compassion of dedicated staff and volunteers, these children are given the opportunity to heal and thrive. HOKISA supports each child’s basic, developmental, educational, and emotional needs.
TIAS ARMS proudly helps fund HOKISA.

TIAS ARMS partners with Midlands Hospice to provide critical care for children living with HIV/AIDS. TIAS ARMS helps fund a dedicated Child Care Worker who regularly visits children , along with the nurses, to monitor their health, ensure treatment compliance and address the psychosocial aspects of HIV
Recognizing the severe physical toll HIV/AIDS can take on the body, TIAS ARMS also provides high-calorie food parcels to help combat malnutrition and weight loss associated with the illness. In addition, funding has provided for a medical scale so each child’s weight and overall health can be carefully monitored on a monthly basis.

GAPA (Grandmothers Against Poverty and AIDS) is based in the township of Khayelitsha, Cape Town and was started by grandmothers who became the primary caregivers for children orphaned and affected HIV/AIDS. These older women have stepped in to raise their grandchildren after parents have passed away or are unable to provide care due to illness and extreme hardship.
TIAS ARMS helps fund GAPA providing food and kitchen appliances. The partnership of GAPA and TIAS ARMS does not only address the childrens immediate physical needs, but also gives children the affection and security of an older generation.

St. Joseph Preschool, funded generously by TIAS ARMS, is dedicated to providing quality early childhood education for low-income children in one of South Africa’s highest “at-risk” regions. Serving children ages 3–6 St. Joseph's supports children facing poverty, neglect, hunger, orphanhood, and unstable home environments.
TIAS ARMS partners with the preschool by helping fund tuition assistance and providing meals before and after school for children who often go without food. TIAS ARMS also funds transportation to and from school ensuring their access to education.

Never Neverland School, funded generously by TIAS ARMS was founded by Ms. Zandile Olga Mdladla who began teaching children out of her parents garage. The school now rests on a hill in a poverty stricken settlement in Kwazulu-Natal and has over 210 students from grades RR-grade 7. TIAS ARMS supports the school by funding nutritious meals, teachers salaries, vegetable gardens, a library, and transportation. TIAS ARMS in 2025 purchased the school a vehicle that has made for more efficient school operations.
Many children graduating 7th grade and entering high school, have their high school education, generously supported by TIAS ARMS Scholarship Fund.

Waves for Change is a surf therapy program providing children who have suffered loss and trauma with child friendly mental health services. The children come from abject poverty and the surf program gives them confidence, a sense of belonging and friendships. TIAS ARMS provides transportation and the daily hot meal for the children after their sessions. TIAS ARMS has also given funds specifically to support girls in the program. Girls are abused at a staggering rate in South Africa and our funds allow them to travel to and from the W4C locations safely.
