The newest grantee, Never Neverland School serves over 70 preschoolers in a poverty-stricken area between Durban and Johannesburg. The majority of the children are affected by the HIV/AIDS epidemic. TIAS ARMS provides funding for food for the children. And, we have provided a refrigerator so food does not spoil.
We have increased the staff size and the learning resources available to the children. The result is the children are better fed and are warmly welcomed into the local elementary school because of their language and math skills. Recently, we gave money for community-wide seminars to raise awareness of the HIV/AIDS epidemic and what to do to identify and help children impacted by this disease.
