Big Thanks!
In September, Lisa Fugard, author of the evocative novel  Skinnerā™s Drift (Scribner, NY, January 2005) and daughter of famed playwright Athol Fugard ( Master Harold and the Boys ; Bloodknot ), and Lynette Brasfield , author of Nature Lessons: A Novel (St. Martinā™s Press, NY, 2003) will lead a one-day hands-on seminar designed to offer writers fresh approaches to their novels, memoirs, or short stories Sept 9th Sat . The South African-born authors, who both now live in the States, will discuss structure and effective use of language as well as publication issues. They suggest a donation of at least $125 per student to Tias Arms .  For more info please look at www.lynettebrasfield.com/ or www.lisafugard.com/

A HUGE thank you to Lynette Brasfield and Lisa Fugard and the participants of a writers workshop held in Sept.  Their generous donations of fees for the workshop found $1,875 for TIAS ARMS.

The Walk for Hope on Saturday Sept 23rd went very well.  Tias Arms had 51 walkers on our team.  We have raised $3,000 to date from the walk.  We are grateful to Be the Cause  www.bethecause.org    for creating this opportunity for us to raise the funds we need to sustain our outreach to the children of Tias Arms.
A huge thanks to all our volunteers for our "5th" annual celebration of TIASARMS 2006.
